Get Started in Minutes

Pick your platform and follow the steps. Revolut and Trading 212 take minutes; Moneybase takes a little longer.

Revolut and Trading 212 are available across much of the EEA. Moneybase is Malta-based — if you live in Malta, see the Malta hub. Availability and features differ by country, so check what applies where you live.

Before you invest anything: keep 3–6 months of expenses in a savings account as an emergency fund, and only invest money you won't need for the next 5+ years. That way a market dip never forces you to sell at a loss.

Not sure which one? Here's how they differ

1

Download the Revolut app

1 min

Available on iOS and Android. If you already have Revolut, skip to step 2.

2

Complete identity verification

2 min

Revolut will ask for your ID card or passport photo. This is required by EU law (KYC). Usually approved instantly.

Make sure your ID is not expired.

3

Add funds

1 min

Top up your Revolut account via bank transfer or card. Even €10 is enough to start.

4

Search for an ETF

30 sec

Tap Invest → ETFs → search for the UCITS ETF you've chosen. Haven't chosen yet? Our free ETF Guide explains the common types beginners look at first.

5

Set up a recurring investment

1 min

On the ETF page, tap 'Recurring Buy' → choose monthly → pick your amount → confirm. Done — you are now a long-term investor.

Set a reminder to check in once a year. Otherwise, leave it alone.

What it costs & how you're protected

The free plan includes a limited number of commission-free trades per month — commissions apply beyond that. Also worth knowing: Revolut accounts are tied to your country of residence. If you move abroad, Revolut requires closing your account — including selling your investments — before opening a new one. Check Revolut's current fees and terms.

Each platform is covered by a different EU investor compensation scheme — worth looking up before you deposit. Investing from €1 works through fractional shares held by the broker: easy to use, but harder to transfer to another broker later. Platform details last reviewed August 2026 — fees and terms change, so always check the provider's current documents.
